From our Director...

I would personally like to introduce you to Refuge Dance Company, a collection of professional dancers within the Atlanta area who present thought provoking works revealing the redemptive message of love and grace. A volunteer company, Refuge embraces dancers who would normally have no place to dance. Many dance companies do not accommodate dancers as they get older, start a family or need to further their education. Refuge embraces those dancers and creates a safe, flexible environment that allows the dancer to continue dancing through their life-changes.

Over the past five years Refuge Dance Company has:
- Provided a positive dancing environment, classes free of charge to over 40 dancers
- Six repertory performances at venues around Atlanta
- Participated three times in Dance Canvas, an emerging choreographer showcase with many other companies within the Atlanta arts community
- Hosted Project Dance Atlanta annually from 2007 throgh 2010, a free outdoor dance concert in Centennial Olympic Park

Now we’re ready to do even more!

Refuge Dance Company is partnering with local rescue and recovery programs such as Women of Gilgal, Breakthru House and WellSpring to provide dance classes free of charge to those on the road to recovery. Another exciting project is
Dance for MS. Inspired by former Refuge company member Emily Seibert, Refuge Dance Company is in the process of organizing two free dance classes per month for individuals in our community that are living with Multiple Sclerosis.

Refuge Dance Company was granted the rights to create a work based on the novel
Hinds Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard. We are in the process of bringing this story to life with the help of music composed by local musicians specifically for Refuge Dance Company. This work will premiere to Atlanta audiences in March 2012.

In order for us to continue to impact our community and grow our current projects, we need your support. You will find a list below of different partnership levels. You may also want to download our full
Partner Packet, which includes details of the benefits of each level of giving along with more details about each project we are working on. I ask you to thoughtfully consider partnering with us as we seek to speak the message of love and grace through the beautiful medium of dance.

Sincerely,
Katherine Gant
